How Avatar Relocation charges for local intra New York State moving services

This article was written to help those who are considering using Avatar Relocation for residential moving service within New York State understand how Avatar charges for such moves. Moving within Long Island, NY (Suffolk County or Nassau County), the 5-Bouroughs of New York City, or Westchester County

  • Moving within within Long Island, NY (Suffolk County or Nassau County), the 5-Bouroughs of New York City, or Westchester County is charged by the hour.
  • We begin such hourly moving charges when we arrive at your origin residence in the morning (you will be asked to initial the "Start Time" when we begin the move).
  • Your move time will end when we set the last article in place at your new residence at destination (you will be asked to initial the "Finished Time" when we complete the move).
  • The "Start Time" minus the "End Time" is the actual time which is charged to complete your move (we call this your "Actual Move Time").
  • We then add the quoted flat rate "Tavel Time" to your Actual Move Time. Travel Time is defined as a flat charge charge for our truck and movers to travel from our yard to your origin residence (before the move has started) and from your new residence back to our yard (once your move has been completed).
  • Packing boxes is charged by the box, and is based on the the type of box which we pack (for example: mirror/picture cartons cost more to pack than book cartons).
  • Your moving cost estimate includes basic loss/damage liability.
  • Optional full replacement value loss/damage liability is available and is charged based upon the amount of additional coverage which you require (subject to our minimum coverage rules).

For moving to New York State locations which are north of Westchester County

  • Moving to New York State locations which are north of Westchester County is charged on a weight basis.
  • Your Avatar Relocation moving truck is weighed before loading and after loading and the difference between these weights is the (net) weight you are charged for.
  • Packing boxes is charged by the box, and is based on the the type of box which we pack (for example: mirror/picture cartons cost more to pack than book cartons).
  • Your moving cost estimate includes basic loss/damage liability.
  • Optional full replacement value loss/damage liability is available and is charged based upon the amount of additional coverage which you require (subject to our minimum coverage rules).
