Will my mover disassemble and dismantle articles when I move?

I am moving soon and I have beds, tables, and a desk which will need to be disassembled and dismantled when I move. Do moving companies do this?

Thank you,

Larry G.

Yes. Professional movers will dismantle "standard" articles at origin (at no additional charge) and these articles will be put back together upon delivery at destination (also at no additional charge). Please note that the term "standard" refers to simple household articles such as  beds and tables. However, your mover may advise you that they charge foe dismantling and reassembling "non-standard" articles (such as wall units, pool tables, bunk beds, saunas, etc.) . Please ask your mover if you have any questions as to which articles are dismantled and assembled for free and which articles require an additional charge.

In addition, professional movers often require a "Particle Board\Press Board Furniture Waiver." Particle board is an engineered wood product manufactured from wood particles, such as wood chips, sawmill shavings, or even saw dust, and a synthetic resin or other suitable binder, which is pressed and extruded. Furniture manufactured from particle board and/or engineered wood furniture (commonly known as press board) is designed to be shipped unassembled. Furniture manufactured from particle board is not built to withstand the normal stresses when moved as an assembled unit. Although we will treat these articles with care, Avatar requires a liability release be executed when we move such furniture in an assembled state.

Thank you for your question and good luck with your move! Professional Long Island mover
