Chris came and gave us an estimate was very professional. Wilma, Delmi and Robert were amazing, they moved our family from Long Island to Connecticut and everything went
great . They were very careful with our furniture from wrapping it to , unpacking it. and they made a second stop to storage unit. I would definitely recommend fir your relocation.

Avatar Relocation out of New York (Long Island) was an extremely favorable experience. They say moving is one of the most stressful times in a person's life, but I have to say that "Danny" and his crew made it so simple and reassuring. They did an awesome job packing our house and loading everything into the truck for our move to California. The delivery took place about a week later and couldn't have gone smoother. Danny's leadership and attention to detail was outstanding! All our items were delivered in excellent condition without a single scratch and nothing was broken. My wife and I were so impressed with the professionalism that I asked Danny if I could keep his number for future moves. Since our move to CA, Danny has been our "go to guy" for my brothers' moves and Danny recently moved my parents from GA to MN!

Incredible service, great communications, punctual, and you are treated like family. Danny's demeanor and charisma make you want to become his friend! We certainly hope Danny will be available when the time comes to venture back to the East Coast!!

So after 45 Years in the same home we decided to move. The easiest and BEST part of the move was selecting Avatar Relocation of NY. Chris came to our home to speak to us ( he offered a virtual ) and do a walk thru and was very accurate and deliberate in informing us what he would do. We received a detailed estimate that was easy to read and understand. Our move was delayed 3 times and there was no issue with rescheduling. We were also received a call from the lead man who would be in charge of the move, and would supervise the actual move. That was comforting to know that someone that aware of my situation was on site. (I had a heart attack just 10 days earlier)
The move went so smooth, the arrives on time, pack up and dissembled all the beds and packed our belongings as if it was theirs. We left the house that we lived in for 45 years. We arrived at our new home in Bay Shore (closer now to our kids and grandkids) and they were very helpful it reassembling everything and allowing us to put new pads on every piece of furniture if we requested it. They were carful and attentive not to do any damage to our new home and our furniture and placed every box as I directed.
When it was all over and was handed the final bill the actually lowered the price based on the number of items and boxes actually moved. So Like I said in the beginning choosing Avatar Relocation of NY was the BEST decision we made.

Avatar movers were pretty good. We were able to finish a local move within 4 hours, which was excellent.

Avatar provided three movers and a truck big enough to accommodate my move. We did move on a rainy day and Avatar brought some old boxes to protect my carpet. They did their best not to dirty the carpet.

The movers were very helpful and worked hard to get the move done ASAP. Everything ended up were I wanted it in my place and nothing was broken. All in all a great job.

As I was nearing the closing date to get out of my house and the boxes started to pile up, I realized I needed a professional to help me move: I couldn't handle the task of doing it on my own. Getting a pod was something I briefly considered, but after pricing them out and getting two other estimates from movers, I decided to go with Chris and Avatar. His rates were the best in comparison, not falsely underestimating the cost to outbid competitors, or up selling me with additional nickel and dime fees others told me were "standard." Chris provided confidence and reassurance, and Avatar had a good track record as evidenced by their online reviews and Atlas Quality Awards.
Day of the move, the guys showed up on time and killed it, easing all tensions and stress. They were careful and professional, accommodating, down to earth and made the whole thing fun, we put on some music and had a great time. Nothing seemed to be damaged and I feel we are in good hands!
As my stuff was moved out and put into storage, I will update my review when my move in to the new place is complete!

Even though we were only moving 1.5 miles away, the whole process can still be stressful. Not so with the guys from Avatar. The whole undertaking from initial sales meeting with Steve to the actual move with Robert, Hank and crew was outstanding. We moved on New Year's Eve Day and the guys were punctual, professional and personable. We had basically no damage to any of our furniture or our home and everything was assembled and placed exactly where we wanted it. While slightly nervous beforehand, the day ended up being such a relief. They guys were also a pleasure to deal with throughout the move. All had great personalities, strong work ethics and made the move (almost) enjoyable. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great moving service at a fair price.

Avatar gave me the best price and a MUCH BETTER moving experience than a previous company I used. They showed up on time, were very courteous, and finished ahead of schedule. I especially appreciated the careful way they packed all of my items. Nothing was damaged (as compared to many easily-avoided damages in my previous move with another company). At the end of the job they made an extra effort to confirm each piece of furniture and box had been placed in the right room of the house. They even helped put back together my Ikea bookshelf that fell apart while they were moving it (through no fault of theirs, particle board furniture has a tendency to do that!) Will definitely use them again if I have to move.

My husband and I used Avatar Relocation Inc. for our March 2015 relocation from Long Island to the Gulf Coast of Florida. From the very start things went very smoothly. Steve C. arrived early to our estimate on one of the coldest Winter days Long Island has had this year. He was very pleasant and knowledgable and asked all the appropriate questions. His estimate on the number of boxes was very accurate. He sent the quote later that very afternoon and gave us a dollar amount that was fair. He made himself available in the next coming weeks for any question, big or small that I had for him. He always kept my mind at ease.
On the day of our move, Bob, Gino and a third man came to collect our boxes, bicycles, furniture and 5 precious surf boards (we packed them ourselves with bubble wrap in two surf board bags). The gentlemen packed our lamps, tv's and computer monitors along with wrapping our furniture and a glass top drafting table that was easily breakable. The gentlemen worked for three hours straight and were very professional and careful with our belongings.
Two weeks later we met the delivery tractor trailer along with Danny and Wayne at our storage unit. They arrived about a half hour earlier than expected. We received a call a few days prior to their arrival with a time and date of when we should meet them. Both Danny and Wayne were professional and carefully brought all of our items, big, small and some fragile into the storage until and helped us direct where to put the boxes. They both worked diligently and were very friendly.
Thank you again to all the helpful people we encountered from Avatar Relocation!! All of our belongings arrived safely and NOTHING was damaged. I would recommend them to family and friends. You all made our transition to Florida pleasant and always acted in a professional manner. Thanks again!...Steph and Paul H.

[Update] Since my last review, the owner of this company called to apologize for the mishandling of the paperwork and provide a full reimbursement on the cost of extra paperwork preparation and delivery fee on my end. He was very listening and valued customer's feedback. He reassured that proper training on staff in handling cross-country move will be reinforced. Again, I would still recommend this company to anyone who's considering moving locally or within-US. They do give accurate estimates and ensure your properties are arrived on time and in good condition. Hopefully, with this experience, they can improve their competence in any cross boarder moves.

[Original]This review was written in regards to my move in February 2015 to ON, Canada. Due to the mistake in handling the paperwork and designating a wrong recipient in transporting my furniture to my family in Canada. I had to obtain a power of attorney to correct the mistake, which caused extra cost (notarization fee and expedited courier fee of the original documentation to be sent to Canada) and a 2-week delay in releasing the goods at the border. When I decided to hire Avatar to handle my cross-border move. I trusted their expertise in handling the customs issues. But that's not the case. They were not knowledgeable and misled me to think that no extra paperwork and duty were required (which was not the case, I had to prepare invoice of my furniture and pay a significant amount of duty fee). I really wish that Avatar Relocation can be more careful in paperwork preparation and be able to answer customer's questions more thoroughly for cross-border move to avoid unnecessary delays and misunderstanding.

Nevertheless, I should still say that the loading day went very smoothly. The moving crew came to my house on time, packed everything carefully, and loaded everything in a careful and organized manner. They demonstrated high level of professionalism. Also, no loss nor damages on the items was found. In terms of this, I would give a very high rating on this moving company.

In all, I would recommend this company to do any local or within-US moves only. I would not recommend them to do any cross-border moves. You would either have to do lots of your own research on importing/exporting across the border or hire someone else that has that expertise.

Great moving company. The service was excellent! The packers arrived on time, loaded the contents of my home onto a clean truck. The price was competitve with other movers but the service I received from these guys made this decision to use Avatar a good one.
